kingdom : Animilia

Phylum: Anyhropoda

Class: insecta

Order: Neuroptera

Family: Myrmeleontdae

Genus: Glenurus

2. Antlion larva is named after it's predatory behavior. The larva digs tiny pits in the sand of about 2.5*3cm. Small insects which crawl on the edges of the pit, slip inside in to the jaws of the antlion as only it's jaws will project after burrying itself inside the pit.

3. They are beneficial to humans as they provide a non toxic insect control. They soften the sand , hence provide a good textured soil.

4. They are not known to cause any disease.

5. Mostly found worldwide in sandy areas. Also found in East, central and Texas central central gulf cost region, Florida.

6. Predatory behavior is most interesting fact of this insect.
