An exotic library primarily comprises of set of genes which evolves from donor and generally each gene will carry each defined segment of chromosome.
In plant Breeding, the variations which occur naturally in the cultivated crops is categorised as an under -exploited resource. Exotic libraries, consist of those genomic regions that have been taken from the wild species in a population and these have been introduced into the crop lines. Hence, there is an improvement in the agricultural activity of the varities of crop. Also, the exotic libraries can be used as a reagent in order to characterize a gene or for the discovery of genes.
