Mechanism of enzyme action- it begins with the binding of substrate on the active site of enzyme.

Enzymes are made up of amino acid which are linked together by peptide bond.

It control the speed of reaction. It help in the breakdown of large molecules into smaller molecules.

Active site- it is the specific region of enzyme which combine with substrate.

Substrate- a molecule upon which enzymes act.

Enzyme substrate complex- it is the intermediate when substrate interact with enzyme.

Competitive inhibition- in it inhibitors prevent the binding of substrate to the enzyme.

Cofactor- it is non protein chemical essential for activity of an enzyme.

Coenzyme- it is non protein compound necessary for functioning of enzymes.
