Let’s say that two plants need the same amount of energy and has the same leaf size. Plant No. 1 has green leaves and Plant No. 2 has blue leaves. Which plant needs the most leaves? Plant No. 1 or Plant No. 2.

Answer #1

Let me tell you two important things before answering the question-

1) For photosynthesis, red and blue light is highly efficient as they can energize the chlorphyll molecules better.

2) Next, the leaves of one color do not absorb the light of same wavelength. That means if a leaf is of green color, it will not absorb green colored light.

So, i think you must have figured out the answer.

As the two leaves need same amount of energy and have the same size, the green colored leaves will be very efficient in absorbing blue colored light. Hence, photosynthesis will be in higher rate here. On the other hand, the blue colored leaves will not be able to absorb the blue light, it will not reflect it. So, photosynthesis will not be occuring here as in green leaves. Hence, the plant having blue leaves will need to have more of blue colored leaves.

Hope it helps, Good luck

A binary tree isfullif every non-leaf node has exactly two children. For context, recallthat we saw in lecture that a binary tree of heighthcan have at most 2h+1−1 nodes, and thatit achieves this maximum if it iscomplete, meaning that it is full and all leaves are at the samedistance from the root. Findμ(h), theminimumnumber of nodes that a full tree of heighthcan have, and prove your answer using ordinary induction onh. Note that tree of height of 0 isa single...

(a) which color of laser produces the pulse with the larger momentum?

A carbon tax is a tax on carbon based energy sources like natural gas. Let’s say that you have $100 to spend on utilities for your aparment, you can only purchase electricity from a natural gas power plant, and that electricity costs $0.10 per unit. You see electricity and all other non-carbon based utilities (e.g. internet) as imperfect substitutes. 1 Graph your current utility maximing bundle assuming that you split expenditures between electricity and other household utilities, meaning right now...

An inbred strain of plants has a mean height of 48 cm. A second strain of the same species has a mean height of 57 cm. When plants from the two strains are crossed together, all the plants in the F1 generation is 52.5 cm tall. On the other hand, crossing two F1 plants provides a wide range of different heights in the F2 generation: Most of the plants are the same height as the F1 generation plants, while fewest...
