There are some newly improved and experimental screening techniques that will help to screen for breast cancer with ease.

Digital mammography: it takes X-ray image on the computer screen rather than on a film, which is gradually becoming available.

Computer aided detection system: it can be used in labs to identify and analyse standard mammograms and act as second opinion readers for radiologists.

Ultrasound: improvements to this technology will promise to make it more helpful in cancer detection. Sound echoes differently of off masses of various consistency can be determined.

MRI: Some techniques are inder investigation which draws an image of breast based on the elasticity of vibrating tissue.

Some of experimental methods towards better image of breast is under investigation like PET, ductap lavage and ductoscopy, NIR spectra imaging, microwave imaging spectroscopy etc
