My teacher essentially wants me to form a scientific question about MoxR proteins that could be addressed with experimental analysis. I am also supposed to detail techniques that should be used for analysis. I tried this myself numerous times but all of the huge words in scientific papers really just confused me and I am desperate. Please help me by offering possible questions I could ask about MoxR proteins and how I could address that problem using laboratory techniques for analysis

I believe you are ataking in context of bacterial system.

you can ask the questions:

1. What are the regulator elements of MoxR genes.

2. What conditions trigger the formation of Mox R proteins

3. What would happen to bacterial glucose metaboilsm if fed on methanol.

These questions can be addressed by forward genetics apporoach, whereby you do random mutagenization of bacteria and look for mutants wich can not survive on methanol plates compared not wild type bacteria.

By doing so, you can identify the regulatory elements, gene expression profile under different stimulus.
