Regarding the control of hormones, release list the 3 major types (categories) of stimuli. Then fright next to that type, write the name of each hormone from the list below that is released by that method. All hormone should be put into one category each. (Insulin, Oxytocin, Parathyroid Hormone, Growth Hormone, TSH, Cortisol)
There are three types of stimuli. The first is the humoral stimuli in which the hormone is released in ion levels or the level of Extracellular fluid.
Hormonal stimuli is in which the hormone is released in response to the action of other hormone.
Neural stimuli relase hormones in response to a neuronal stimulation.
Insulin and parathyroid hormone are humoral stimuli hormones. They are secreted in response to change in the blood level of glucose and calcium.
Cortisol, TSH, growth hormone are hormonal stimuli hormones. Cortisol is released in response to the action of ACTH. TSH is released by the action of thyroid releasing hormone. Growth hormone is released by the response of growth hormone releasing hormone.
Oxytocin is a neural stimuli hormone.
