Inflammation is primarily a component of adaptive immunity that delivers immediate mediators of host defense - circulating cells and proteins - to sites of infection and tissue damage.
I know this is false but can you explain why it is false or what aspect(s)
During inflammation there are two phases - vascular phase and the cellular phase . During cellular phase the primary response is provided by the innate immunity of the body . There is an immense leucocytic response , and on acute inflammation primary leucocyte are neutrophils , along with it are macrophage and other chemical mediators like prostaglandins , leukotrienes , cytokines , complement , bradykinin , interleukin , histamine etc . Thus in gross it is the innate immunity (both cellular and non cellular) which is primarily responding to the antigen producing inflammation.
If the inflammation persists chronically only then adaptive response comes into action . B cells produces antibody and T cell is involved in cell mediated immunity to destroy the antigen .
