How are the Dilute Urine and Concentrated Urine formed?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Urine is formed by the kidneys. Urine formation depends on several factors which determines whether the urine is dilute or concentrated. Dilute urine has more water content in it whereas concentrated urine has less water content.

Following are the factors:-

  • Secretion of ADH by the pituitary gland.
  • Absorption of solute by the kidneys.
  • Absorption of water by the kidneys.

Dilute urine formation:-

  • Decreased secretion of ADH by the pituitary gland.
  • Increased absorption of solutes by the renal tubules .
  • Decreased absorption of water by the renal tubules.

concentrated urine formation:-

  • increased secretion of ADH by the pituitary gland.
  • Secretion of solutes by the renal tubules.
  • Increased absorption of water by the renal tubules.
