Why is there a significant difference in the TP interval of an ECG in athletes vs non athletes?
UPDATE: The question is regarding TP waves
TP interval of ECG represents the segment between the ventricular repolarization events (T wave ) and the atrial depolarization(P wave ).In, non athletes;the TP interval time, during that heart muscles remains inactivated or electrically silent. Whereas in athletes, heart rate increases which causes the TP interval to become shorter for the repeated round of the beating of heart for the supply of oxygenated blood to the muscles. Moreover, in athletes, the T wave of the one cardiac cycle merges with the P wave of the succeeding cardiac cycle due to fast heart rhythm.
