Answer #1

Answer. The cowpea plant is known as the Vigna unguiculata.

1. The nitrogen fixation bacteria that are found in the root nodules of the cowpea plant, these bacteria increase the absorption of nitrogen in the plant.

2. Increased nitrogen in the plant helps in attaining the optimum growth.

3. Because of high nitrogen content the number of flowers are more at the blossoming time.

4. More number of flowers, make more number of healthy seeds with high protein content in them, because nitrogen is the important structural component to make the amino acids, the latter are used to make proteins.
