Health risk in unborn foetus are-

1. Chromosomal abnormalities(due to undernutrition of mother or any disease in mother)

2. Low birth weight.(due to undernutrition in mother)

3. Chances of still birth.

4. Infection in foetus because of infection to mother which can transmit through placenta.

5. Asphyxia can occur due to umbilical cord.

Foetal alcohol refers to effect on foetus due to excessive consumption of alcohol by mother while foetus is in the womb. Following are the results of foetal alcoholic syndrome-

1 .slow growth.

2. Physical deformities in joints and limbs

3. Mental retardness.

4. Poor memory and learning skills.

5. Poor cognitive and intellectual skills
