Answer #1

ANSWER 1 -

Drinking alcoholic breverage , by someone stranded in the snow can make them feel warmer but actually does not keep them warm or prevent hypothermia , insted it lowers the core body temperature. Alcohol is a vasodilator causes blood vessels to dilate , particulary capillaries .During drinking the volume of blood below the skin surface increases , making the person feel warm. But the blood underneath the skin will rapidly cool because of the chill in the air and the warmth caused due to rushing the blood in the capillaries of the skin will also make him sweat , thereby droping the core body temperature.
