Dendrites are finger-like processes arising from cell body.Their main function is to receive the impulses from the axon terminal of adjacent neuron.

Cell body is present between dendrites and axon of the neuron.It contains the nucleus; other organelles and synthesises neuropeptides.It gives rise to two processes -Dendrites and axon.

Axon is a long process arising from the cell body .Its main function is to generate action potential( in the axon hillock) and to conduct the impulse to the axon terminal ; from which it is conducted to the dendrites of the next neuron across the synapse.
