If only antibodies are transferred with plasma (no cells or antigens) into the infected individual, would you expect this person to build immunological memory to COVID-19? (i.e. create memory B-lymphocytes and memory T-lymphocytes)
The answer to this question is NO
the patient won't develop memory against COVID-19 if only plasma containing antibodies is given.
Explanation- memory develops in immune system only when the immune system had a primary encounter with the causative antigen. When there is first contact to antigen with immune system, memory B and T cells gets activated. These now create antibodies which help to fight any subsequent infection in future.
So if no antigen is present, memory system will not work.
