c) mitral regurgitation

d) aortic stenosis

d) Anemic

Homework Answers

Answer #1

1. Carbon monoxide poisoning causes anemic hypoxia

Because it binds with haemoglobin so tightly that it prevent binding of oxygen to hemoglobin and hence decreases oxygen carrying capacity of blood.

Wrong options

Metabolic hypoxia: it is due to inability of tissue to utilize oxygen as in cyanide poisoning

Circulatory hypoxia: it occurs due to inability of the heart to pump blood properly to organs either due to decrease RBC count or abnormal RBC as in sickle cell anemia.

Hypoxic hypoxia: it occurs when environmental oxygen decreases like at high altitude.

2. Late diastolic heart murmur is mitral stenosis.

It occurs due to flow of blood through narrowed valve from atria to ventricle during diastole.

Wrong options

Aortic regurgitation : early diastolic murmur - due to backflow of blood from aorta to left ventricle as the heart starts to relax.

Mitral regurgitation: it is a systolic murmur . It occurs due to contraction of ventricle and back flow of blood into left atrium.

Aortic stenosis: This is a systolic murmur

Occurs due to flow of blood from left ventricle to aorta through narrow valve.
