Job cost accounting is where the cost incurred for each job is calculated which is cost of service in case of service industry and manufacturing cost in case of other industries. Job costing is used by businesses which provide unique and customer specific goods or services. This mean the services provided would differ from client to client. The same is the case for accountants and attorneys as the service provided would differ for each customer and thus these service professionals can also use the job cost accounting. The cost incurred in this case would be direct cost of service provided.

Thus, professionals such as accountants and attorneys does utilize job cost accounting.
