Linking separate computers together requires the use of either an EDI service bureaus or through the internet. An EDI service bureau act as inetrmediary between companies and provides multiple services. The bureau receives messages from an EDI and will then translate the message into a readable format and forward it to the suppliers. The internet on the onther hand, gives firms a modern network infrastructure to accomplish any communications directly. The internet has become the more favored communication method of choice for an EDI transmission.
