Descriptive statistics in Modern business probability and stats, how do you change on a histogram with variable range that are not listed on the table so on the y axis reads 1-14.9.

  1. Show the frequency distribution for the gross Profit Margin using the five intervals: 0–14.9, 15–29.9, 30–44.9, 45–59.9, and 60–74.9. Construct a histogram.

Answer #1

Here in this example all class intervals are mutually exclusive i.e they are not continuous like 0-14.9 and 15-29.9

So for constructing histogram we have to make this class as mutually exhaustive

Therefore first find the difference between Lower limit of any class and upper limit of just previous class like 30 and 29.9

And divide it by 2 we get the difference so this difference you should subtract from Lower limit of each class and add it on upper limit of each class

For this example

Difference is 0.1

Divide by 2 we get 0.05

So add it on upper limit of each class and subtract from Lower limit of each class we get

(-0.05 - 14.95) (14.95 - 29.95) (29.95 - 44.95) ans so on

Now the classes are mutually exhaustive so you easily construct histogram using frequency corresponding to class.

Thank you..!!?
