Question

Which of the following actions will have no effect on the value of the standard deviation?

Which of the following actions will have no effect on the value of the standard deviation?

Answer #1

Solution:

If we increase or decrease sample size than standard deviation will change

If we increase or decrease any value in standard deviations with different values than standard devaition will also change.

But if we increase or decrease all values in sample by same amount than the standard deviation will not get changed.

So if there are so many observations in sample and all observations subtract by 5 than there will not be any effect on standard deviation.
