1- Reconnaissance: In this techniques, archaeologists locate sites to work on it, they use aerial photos, historical records, and interviews with natives and previous works to understand and locate the archaeological sites.

2- Survey: The survey is the process of data collection in which archaeological finds are collected from sites and then analyzed. The survey can be divided into two types, one is the pedestrian survey and the second one is mapping.

3- Excavation: The excavation is the scientific retrieval of materials, digging and recovery of archaeological findings. During excavation, archaeologists prepare apparatuses, parameters, and tools.
