In what areas do expected genner roles affect sexual decision making and behavior? What conflicts can arise?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Gender roles and their beliefs affect sexual decision making and behaviour. More conventional men have lesser sexual partners. Conventional women tend to use condoms less and participate less in sexual decision making. Therefore, conventional beliefs in both men and women lead to power differentiations which can lead to risky behaviours.

Less conventional men and women have more sexual partners allowing risk of sexual diseases. Sexual double standards and beliefs can cause conflicts in ego and power trip. Domination and subissive behaviours take place when there is a power trip but this can be situational too.
