Which reform movement, if any, gained traction from U.S. involvement in Korea, or the Cold War?
President Truman's policy of Containment, that is keeping communist countries as U.S.S.R and China from expansion, involved U.S in Korean struggle. Korea was a former Japanese colony before the WW ll. When Japan was defeated in the war U.S.A and U.S.S.R split Korea into South Korea and North Korea. With the support of U.N and U.S a democratic government was established in South Korea, while, in the North Korea a communist government with the support of U.S.S.R was established. South Korea was invaded by North Korea and U.S supported South Korea under the policy of Containment and sent troops to combat the North Korean forces who were helped by the Russians.
