Assuming people leave their communication devices turned on 24/7. This practice has certain disadvantages associated it. For on other people will think they are accessible 24 hrs and have the liberty to call and reach out to them anytime. Secondly, the person's own productivity is hampered by being beck and call of others or checking and answering the phone calls and messages from others. Another thing could be that the person can become fidgety and distracted all the time. He or she may not be able to get proper sleep and rest also. There is only one advantage of this practice that I can see for people who are staying away from their families and need to keep in touch all the time. Apart from this, the habit is unproductive.
