Major Depression and Bipolar Disorder both have some similarities such as

1. Major Depression is included with depressive symptoms or episodes

Bipolar Disorder is also included with the symptoms of Depression.

2. Major Depression affects our mood and behaviors

In other hand, Bipolar Disorder also affects our mood and can change our behavior.

3. A patient with Depression can lose his or her interest in regular or daily activities.

A Bipolar Disorder patient also can lose his or her interest in her regular or favorite activities.

Distinctiveness

There are a major difference between the Major Depression and Bipolar Disorder. Such as

  1. Major Depression is basically Unipolar Disorder. There is no Happy or Up period in the Major Depression Disorder. Here a patient only suffers from sadness or Depression.

In other HAND, Bipolar Disorder has UP and DOWN period. In the ‘’UP’’ period, a patient can feel extreme level of happy or excited and in the ‘’DOWN’’ period that patient feels an extreme level of Depression and sadness.

2. Mood Swings is not very common in Major Depression Disorder

Mood Swings is very much common in Bipolar Disorder.

A person with Major Depression Disorder can lose his or her interest in daily or even favorite activities. But a person with Bipolar Disorder can lose interest in daily activities only during the depressive period of life and always becomes more energetic in any kind of activities during the energetic period of life.

Both this disorders can hamper someone’s personal and professional relationship for the extreme fluctuation in their moods.

Treatment-

Major Depressive Disorder- Nowadays, there are so many treatment options are available for the Major Depressive Disorder Such as- Medication, Cognitive Behavioral therapy, Psychotherapy and Electroconvulsive therapy. Another treatment is prescribing anti-Depressing drugs.

Bipolar Disorder- Bipolar Disorder can be recovered by Psychotherapy, Family Therapy and medications like Antipsychotic drugs, Anticonvulsant and Sometimes SSRI ( Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor)

Discussion Or Conclusion- This two disorders are most common disorders nowaday. Symptoms of this two disorders are highly associated with each others. Not only that, this two disorders are very much difficult to deal with present days. Thats the main reason behind choosing these disorders.
