The world population has significantly increased from what it was earlier in 1900. The 1900 era had almost 1.5 billion population , most of which lived in western european cities. Now the world population is estimated to be a total of 7 billion , with half of them living in rural areas and the other half in developed urban places.

Asia has the maximum concentration of people.
