The diseases that will be positively influenced by physical activity are:

• Diabetes
• Asthma
• Heart diseases
• Arthritis
• Back pain

Diabetes: diabetes is one of the common diseases where there is presence of high blood sugar which is present for an extended period. Some of the symptoms of high blood sugar are increased thirst, frequent urination, increased hunger. There may be serious problems if this is not controlled, such as diabetic ketoacidosis, hyperglycaemic state or death. With regular exercise, Insulin can work in a more effective manner such that the blood sugar level will be controlled and this would also lower the weight of the person along with boosting energy.

Asthma: asthma is an inflammatory disease which occurs in the lungs, there are recurring and variable symptoms such as reversible airflow obstruction or bronchospasm. There may be shortness of breath along with chest tightness and coughing. With exercise, the frequency as well as severity of the asthma attacks can be reduced.

Pros of collecting self report data about physical activity is that these are easy and cheap at the same time. Cons are that these may be hard to remember and may be inaccurate since these are harder to remember and details can be mixed up.
