Achilles takes the revenge of his friend's killing by slaying Hector, but his act of revenge doesn't stops there, he ties the body of Hector to his chariot, and takes his body to all the dust and dirt. He mistreats the body of Hector for next twelve days. Finally, with the intervention of Zeus through his mother Thetis, he agrees to give back his body but demands a ransom. Priam, the father of Hector pays the ransom and takes his son's body. Finally, Hector's body recieves the funeral rites from his people.
