What was your impression of the video, "The Marshmallow Test," and what was the point of viewing this video?
"The Marshmallow Test" was developed by Walter Mischel and Ebbe B. Ebbesen at Stanford University in 1960. The study includes testing a child's ability to delay gratification. In The Marshmallow Test, the subject is baited, with a marshmallow. He is also baited with a superior reward if he does not take the marshmallow provided and waits instead. Most subjects did not wait. The ones who waited were given two more marshmallows. They were the happiest to receive three in total. The Marshmallow test focuses on developing the 'ability to wait to obtain something that one wants' in children.
