Write one full paragraph (5-8 sentences) on the following prompt.
Prompt: It is somewhat common today to hear that we cannot be certain of anything at all, since knowledge is perception and people all perceive things differently. How might someone challenge this argument drawing from the work of rationalist philosophers like Descartes?
To most of the philosophers, today everything is uncertain .According to their view Knowledge is perception and people all perceives things differently. They believed that knowledge comes to us through senses But this view is not correct at all and can be challenged based on the views of Descartes who defined knowledge in terms of doubt. Descartes argued that what we believe on the basis of the senses cannot meet the standard. Consequently, he concluded, we do not know anything on the basis of our senses. He further argued that the method of doubt is used to find beliefs that can serve as a foundation for knowledge. Only beliefs that are certain, immune from doubt can perform this function.
Therefore it can be concluded that Knowledge does not comes to us through Senses.True Knowledge comes to us through application of Reason.
