If acculturation is important to 'becoming American' can you learn this culture without actually ever visiting the United States? How does modern technology and globalization affect this cultural learning?
We cannot truly adopt the culture of acculturation without actually ever visiting the United States because it is only when we interact in real with people; we get influenced by them and we adopt their ways. America is a land of melting pot society and to be truly American we have to be acculturated. Modern technology and globalization affect this cultural learning by facilitating this process as people come to know about the cultures of different people due to globalization, but this is all virtual and not real. It is only when we live with people do we really get influenced. For example, it is only when I started living in the USA I came to know of the Spanish culture and the language.
