Consider these seven “events.” –
1. Running away.
2. A big surprise.
3. Shot in the back.
4. First kiss.
5. Striking oil.
6. Saying goodbye.
7. Last dance.
Working from our list of seven basic moving camera shots (1) pans; (2) tilts; (3) dolly shots; (4) handheld shots; (5) crane shots; (6) zoom shots; and (7) aerial shots; describe what camera movement you would use to film each event and why. Refer to pictures throughout Chapter 3 for inspiration or post an image or video clip to serve as an illustration. Then read over your classmate's examples. Do you agree with their choices? Why or why not?
1.Running away- A pan shot because it finds the camera moving horizontally, from right to left or left to right
2.A big surprise-- Aerial Shot because it is the technique of filming objects from elevated and not ground-supported positions. Aerial shots are typically captured while the camera is in motion and mounted on a helicopter or drone.
3. Shot in the back- A pan shot because it finds the camera moving horizontally, from right to left or left to right
4. First kiss.- Handheld shot because This type of shot is produced when the camera is held by operator in both hands. It is used to create intimate moments that pull the audience into the scene.
5. Striking oil- Tilt Shot--It captures motion in verticle direction.
6. Saying goodbye- Crane shot because such shot is taken by a camera on a crane or a mechanized arm with a camera on one end and a counterweight and operator on the other end. It’s also often used to mark the end of a scene.
7. Last dance- Crane shot because such shot is taken by a camera on a crane or a mechanized arm with a camera on one end and a counterweight and operator on the other end. It’s also often used to mark the end of a scene.
