Pretend you have been asked by the president of the United States to chair a special task force that is to write a national policy statement on children's exposure to television. What recommendations would you make concerning viewing hours and type of shows to be aired? Relating television back to cognitive development, give two examples of how young children might misunderstand plots of television shows or claims made on advertisements.

The recent time we can experience the effect of television on children, their learning, habits, behavior and understanding by the television programs. The television influenced the social learning as well as individual understanding towards society.

The television effects on behavior, learning process and health, children learn from television and try to act like characters shown on television.

We must understand that the television programs come with the disclaimer which means they contain many unidentified objects and high level of the imagination but the understanding of children do not match with the content so that children are not able to understand the reason behind the TV programs. Advertisement between programs also affects the learning of children and sometimes these programs create fake facts but children take them as real.

Another influencing factor of television is conditioning of brain, children not able to discriminate between the reality and imagination so they learn many inappropriate things from TV. Offensive programs make them aggressive so they try to use the program's activities into real life.

If I were the member of National Task Force, I would like to recommend some suggestion as-

1- TV programs must be categorized and follow the ethics of social interests, traditions, and norms.

2- Parents should have control over the programs broadcasting over TV.

3- Interaction between children with TV must be controlled and we should not allow them to spend more time with TV.

4- Adult programs should not broadcast during vacation and daytime, because curiosity of children leads them to watch these kinds of television shows.

5- News channels and advertisement must follow the ethical conditions during broadcasting.

Many types of research declared that the criminal activities in children raised by the TV programs, news channels, and other offensive kinds of stuff. So that parents have proper control over TV.

Children like cartoon show but they also learn many things like language, accent, and behavior from them so that Cartoon show should be appropriate and creative rather than offensive or anti-social.
