Can electric lighting affect what we see as ‘true color’ of an object? Explain briefly.
Yes, electric lighting affects what we see as ' true color' of an object.
The color of an object is determined by the light Which is reflected back by the object. When a white light falls on a object, the object will show it's true color because white light consists of all the colors and the object's color will be determined by the light which is reflected most. However, electric light has more content of red and yellow light.Due to this, more amount of red and yellow lights are reflected back and this will make the object look more saturated ( warmer) and will cause color variation or we will not be able to see the true color of the object.
