Think back of something you are afraid of. See if you can recall the moment you became afraid. Did something happen? Are you responding to an unconditioned stimulus or have you been conditioned to feel this fear? Have you generalized this fear to similar situations? Explain in depth about the fear
One of my friends has a a fear of being in social situations, interacting with others and the fear of being negatively evaluated or judged by people. This is known as social anxiety disorder. The first time he felt fear in front of being in the presence of others was at a family gathering when he was a small child. He did not know why he felt like that but he felt very axnious during that time. The reaason for this was an event which had happend to him in school, where he was humiliated by his school teacher in front of the class. The humilitation was the unconditional stimulus, and the shame and anxiety was the unconditioned response. But, slowly this response of shame and anxiety was also generalized to other social situations. The other social situations now became the conditioned stimulus which produced the conditioned response of fear and anxiety.
