Question

Name two things that influence the amount of recombination inside the chamber volume.

Name two things that influence the amount of recombination inside the chamber volume.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

1.If the chamber has charge collecting potential applied i.e having cathode or anode in the chamber then the recombination is generally reduced as it will attract the charges i.e electron/holes/ions towards it which will not allow them to recombine with is other.

2.Rate of production of +/-ions or electrons/holes.Generally the recombination is also dependent on it.As the higher rate of generation will increase the density of +/- ions or electron/holes in chamber and there will more chances of them intercting to each other, which increases the probability of recombination.

At equilibrum at a temperature of 57 °C inside a sealed fixed-volume chamber, there was found to be 0.090 atm of gas A present, 0.290 atm of gas B present and 0.310 atm of gas D present. If more of gas D is pumped into the chamber at constant temperature, such that the new pressure of gas D is 0.100 atm higher than it was before, what is the ΔG of the reaction below now? A mouse is placed in a sealed chamber with air at 768.0 torr. This chamber is equipped with enough solid KOH to absorb any CO2 and H2O produced by the mouse. The gas volume in this chamber is measured to be exactly 1.90 L, and the temperature is held constant at 309K. After two hours the pressure inside the chamber falls to 725.2 torr. Question 20 A chamber of unknown volume is filled with an unknown amount of ideal gas. A cylinder with an open bottom and calibrated volume is connected to the chamber and is closed with a movable piston. A gas pressure sensor is also mounted on the chamber as shown in (Figure 1). Temperatures of gases inside the combustion chamber of a four‑stroke automobile engine can reach up to 1000 ∘C. To remove this enormous amount of heat, the engine utilizes a closed liquid‑cooled system that relies on conduction to transfer heat from the engine block into the liquid and then into the atmosphere by flowing coolant around the outside surface of each cylinder.
