Your book states the "In 2011, a disaster second only to Chernobyl in terms of the amount of radiation released, occurred at the multi reactor Fukushima power plant along the east coast of northern Japan...Long-term health effects are not known." The fukushima nuclear disaster is not the second to Chernobyl but many nuclear disaster took place in between, naming a few like Hamm Uentrop nuclear disaster in west Germany, Delta nuclear disaster in Pennsylvania United States, etc.

The above statement is ambiguous because the health effects were not severe considering the effects of radiation over the population of individuals in the neighbouring regions and also the effects were not severe as compared to Chernobyl nuclear disaster. But when we consider the effects of radiation on the people working in the nuclear power plant, we find the heath effect worth accountable.
