A man leaves his identical twin brother behind to live on another planet that is half as massive. After living apart for many years, the two brothers are reunited on the original planet. According to general relativity, which of the two brothers is now younger than the other? Explain.
According to theory of general relativity,
time passes slowly near massive objects, so to say
Near a massive objct, due to time dialation ( as an effect of general theorey of relativity), the time gets slower
hence, if someone was to move to a planet lighter than earth,
the person will age faster as compared to people on earth
hence when the two brothers reunite, the brother living on the
original planet is younger as brother on the less massive planet
aged more as time was faster on that planet as a consequence of
general theory of relativity
