Calculate the peak current in a 4.6kresistor connected to a 120 V rms ac source.

Take your V rms and multiply by the square root of 2:
(120 V rms)(?2) = 169.7056275

Then, divide that by the number of ohms:
(169.7056275)/(4600 ohms) = .036892577A, which is your peakcurrent
