The area of a 120 turn coil oriented with its plane perpendicular to a 0.17T magnetic field is 4.8

Homework Answers

Answer #1

the initial magnetic flux through all the turns is
NSB (N the number of turns, S area of a turn and B the magnetic field. if the magnetic field reverses its direction the magnetic flux changes its sign but not its magnitude becoming -NSB. the change in magnetic flux is
NBS-(-NBS)=2NBS
the induced emf is by definition (in magnitude)
induced emf=change of the magnetic flux/time in which the change is achieved and so
emf=2NBS/t=2x120x0.17x0.048/0.29 Volt =6.75 V
the rest should be your contribution using the computer!
