Predict the amount of ice (in grams) that you should add to a cup of hot water (roughly 100g, at about 60ºC) in order that the ice and water reach a final temperature that is half the initial Celsius temperature of the hot water. After your prediction, check with the instructor. Then try the experiment and record your results. NOTE: Your ice might not be at 0 Celcius, so pour some water on it and let it sit for a few minutes. The water-ice solution will reach temperature of 0 Celcius. Then pour off the water, and quickly pat the ice dry with a paper towel and weight the desired amount. Remember that you can obtain hot water from your previous Ideal Gas experiment.
