There are four categories of the tort of Invasion of Privacy. Since so many celebrities become famous by exposing their private lives, should most of these categories even be a tort anymore?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Celebrities simply form part of the entire population. To alter the Torts or to not consider these categories as even a Tort anymore, would be rather too much of a biased opinion. It will impact the privacy invasion of the Common public who form a considerable chunk of the Population. Moreover, it need not be necessary that all the celebrities are purposely exposing their private lives. The Paparazzi around them simply do not let them keep their lives privates. It seems like the media and Public has the right to know what these Celebrities are up to in their personal space. That is where the various categories of torts help to draw the line. These torts are instead a sigh of relief for the people who get bothered with the intrusion of privacy the most and hence need be in existence.

Suicide is the third most common cause of death for fifteen to twenty-four year olds, after accidents and homicides (Feldman 286). The rate of adolescent suicide among boys is higher than with girls, with attempts at suicide more likely to be fatal because of the use of more violent means, such as guns. However, girls attempt suicide more frequently, but attempts are less likely to be fatal because less violent means are used, such as by drug overdose (Feldman 287)....

The traditional communication process has undergone a transformation, evolving from a one-to-many structure to many-to-many. This evolution was made possible by the emergence of the Internet as a medium, which changed the way companies connect with their consumers (Hoffman & Novak, 1996), and opening space for new behaviors based on interactions and experiences (Lamberton & Stephen, 2016). This change has even generated a questioning about the future of traditional advertising (Kumar & Gupta, 2016; Schultz, 2016) since companies must deal...
