The main protagonists of the Vechtel case are Jean-Pierre Courbet (French Director of Inter HR) and Jaap Harmelen (Chief Executive at Vechtel). The conflicting cultural values that appear in the case is the regional stereotyping of Spain and France. The ethical and cultural discrepancies in these two regions lead to a variety of challenges in the organization at Vechtel.
