NO, Social entrepreneurship can be a profit based organisation.

But typically most of the organisations are non profit.

Social entreprenuwship is defined as the business where the organisation sells goods & services in the open market and reinvest the money in the same business, majorly to improve the financial condition of the organisation there by providing opportunity to the growth of people in the community by employing more and more. They never look for profits typically they invest the profits back in the business for the growth. They strive for the growth of a particular community or a group to imrove its financial stability.

There are examples of profit social entrepreneuships too, but are typically rare, where people prefer of being it non profit for faster growth.
