Communication is an integral part of the communication process as far as motivation, satisfaction and effectivity go. I am sharing my personal experience on the matters. My previous employment was with a game designing firm. The management had hired a new manager, which was brought in on request of the upper management who swore by his ability to bring the result of any project he becomes a part of. initially, since our interaction was minimized, I had no issues with his management or leadership style because it did not affect either myself or my team that much. but, when the project started nearing its due date, it grew clearer to us that his goal-oriented style of leadership was going to become a problem, for our department. His only flaw was ineffective communication and personal regards to values of human interaction as well as courtesy.
I wouldn't say his style was good or bad because the topic is subjective, rather, I’d say that his approach was flawed. He demanded everything he said with no regards to either the needs or the sentiments the other person might have. Not only had this caused a problem for every department he had interacted with, at the end of the project, he had to be reassigned along with 4 departments that couldn't cope up with his attitude and his approach. These factors made me dissatisfied with my job and my position, therefore, I ended up changing gears and switched to a different line in the video game industry.
