3. Assume that during a meeting, a middle manager is told by a subordinate the he or she is not fit the position and should resign. What approach do you recommended that the leader take to resolve this conflict
The manager should develop a personal relationship with the subordinate in order to resolve conflict between them. The subordinate might have developed some disliking on any act or instruction of the manager, which insisted him/her for claiming resignation of the manager. For example suppose the manager ordered a female subordinate for a night shift and she may not have liked anyone giving such orders. This problem could be sorted out if the manager meets the subordinate personally and tries to develop personal relationship with him/her. The manager should have adequate sympathy about the personal problems of subordinates. He/she should try to find out the solution. In this way personal relations could be developed and the manager could get to know the exact reason behind such reaction. Once the reason is understood, it could be sorted out by proper solution.
