EHR is an electronic health record and a digital version for patient care and keeping patient records in digital form to quickly assess the patient records and their treatment history.
In EHR adoption, some problems come related to training, buy-in among clinical staff, data sharing, lack of patient adoption, lack of usability, interoperability, and lack of proper planning.
While working in an American hospital, EHR goes helpful for managing and better care for patients. They provide accurate, up to date and accurate data for treatments with complete information of patients at the point of the attention.
But while adopting the EHR system, some lack of clinical staff training, lack of usability, and proper planning occurs. These problems are shown while treating a patient by their records.
For example, according to the American psychiatric association, it establishes a practicing guideline for the patient's pharmacological treatment with alcohol use disorder. Their past data are required to treat the patient. At the same time, we used the EHR, then we faced many problems such as lack of patient history, no confirmation about the details, not proper data shown, and caretakes are feel uncomfortable while using EHR.
