Present your original analysis by Thursday of the week, and respond to at least one other student by Sunday of the week.
Does national and local culture affect management practices locally, and if so, how? Should it, or should there be an international standard of appropriate management practices, such that a manager could transfer globally and apply the same management applications worldwide? Explain your answer fully, using this week's readings and your Library research to support your answer.

National and local culture does affect management practices locally up to a certain extend. The culture of negotiation, communication, implied behavior, etc are vary from region to region. One practice that is acceptable in a country might be taboo in another country. The changes are with respect to:
1. Communication standards
2. Implied management practices
3. Acceptable transactional norms, etc.
At present, there are national and international standards in management, but they are not strictly enforced like that of accounting standards. Such enforcement is needed along with provisions for adapting with the local needs.
