The company which I would like to select concerning data and information are the primary factors leading its growth is Amazon. As Amazon is one of the leading retailing companies, the usage of data and information should be very systematic and organised in the company to make sure the right demand is tracked and communication. Data in the form quantitative analysis is being recorded from the consumers around the world generating and calculating the demand from each group and target market. The same demand forecast is converted into information and knowledge for the company to make sure the right inventory is maintained in the company for the demand forecasted. Every phase or function of the company being it Purchasing, Sales, Production, Marketing, IT, R&D etc would be integrated together sharing same quality and quantity of data to make sure the communication is maintained and the benefits of integration could be achieved. The supply chain should be well connected with the company's own actions as Amazon has to make sure the customer is well informed about the supplier and a connection is maintained between these two parties. Every data and information regarding the transportation, internal movement, external movement and the whole logistics are then effectively carried to ensure the customer satisfaction is maintained with the most optimum utilisation of data and information.
