What changes (if any) would you make to the way FedEx allocates authority and
responsibility?

Answer #1

FedEx currently following the practice of assigning authority according to the position hold by the employee and that is in a hierarchial setup. Authority is more in the top level than the bottom level and so repsonsibility. I propose a small structural change in the authority-responsibility allocation and bottom level employees should given more authority in those area which require routine task and not related to strategic affair. For these authority they must have repsonsibility to do those duties.
